Retirement Planning

Our Philosophy

At Retirement Advisors, Inc. our specialty is financial planning for retirement.  Our goal is to help our clients make decisions that maximize the benefits of retirement for themselves and their families and make the transition to retirement as enjoyable as possible.

Retirement is a time of life when people face an extraordinary concentration of important issues that all must be resolved in a very short period of time.  They must confront a dizzying array of pension, cash flow, investment, insurance, and tax decisions; many of which are irreversible!  Retirement decisions have major consequences for your financial security and quality of life.  It is a great time to have a competent and trusted advisor in your corner!  It is also a wonderful opportunity for a skilled advisor to render a valuable service.

Tax regulations, stock market indices, and bond yields are all very important, of course, but they are so impersonal, and can be very intimidating.  At Retirement Advisors, Inc. we believe that people must come first, and we've built our retirement planning practice around this principal.

Cash Flow

Our clients find that one of the most rewarding parts of our retirement planning program is our retirement cash flow analysis that includes a projection of all sources of income during retirement, expected living expenses and taxes, returns on investments, and a year-by-year summary of their total retirement nest egg.  This worksheet provides a frame of reference for making important decisions about spending, gifting and the naming of beneficiaries and deciding the terms of our wills.

Investments

Building an investment portfolio is a key part of any retirement plan.  We take the time to educate our clients about the investment process and thoroughly explain our recommended portfolio strategy.  It is important that our clients have a realistic sense of expected average returns and expected volatility.

The basis for our investment recommendations is the Nobel-Prize winning investment strategy called Modern Portfolio Theory.  The theory revealed how risk can be estimated and how assets behave relative to one another.  The process enables us to design a diversified portfolio that should provide higher, more consistent returns with a level of volatility that conforms to the investor's risk tolerance.  All investment management services are provided on a fee-only basis, which means you never pay any commissions.
